This is bigger than art. It’s reclamation. Beautiful and deeply needed 🌊

I started a photo series like this in like 2009 that fell through after months of gathering. My external hard drive crashed and I lost all my work. I do have a smaller resolution capture on my phone that I still hold onto. Mine was a single photo collage very similar to the cast one you referenced, as it was my motivation. Anyways, thanks for sharing and your continued documentation of your work.

It must undoubtedly be an excellent piece of work. Thank you for your support, The Speechless Poet.

I love this. But I wonder if there would be as much appreciation for the art if it was a photo of my vulva paired with my FUPA. 🧐

Great write up about this much needed topic. I hope the future holds more readily available information and openness for all to learn that there is no "normal" or "ick" when it comes to the female body. 🙌

I recently read an article about labiaplasty and the huge increase in the procedure over the years. I'll be honest and admit I didn't even know that women were doing this until about 3 yrs ago. What stood out to me was how many women admitted they decided on the surgery simply because some of their male sexual partners would comment negatively or react negatively about their labia. Maybe they shouldn't be so quick to judge based on what their genitalia looks like to us 🤔 Most of the women blamed pornography in films and photography for the unrealistic expectations of the female genitalia & breasts. Also mentioning how nudity in art or pornography almost always shows women (or men) that fits the stereotype of having "perfect" bodies in every way...weight, height, shaved bald vulva, appearance of labia, size of breasts, size of penis, race, nationality, age etc.

Just look at how women in pornographic film and photos are either labeled as "teen" or a "MILF" if they no longer look like a teen (barely legal) but are only maybe 25-30 yrs old. Far from a 'MILF'! That makes me cringe with disgust to even think about the literal millions and millions that only watch porn or view photos with 'Teen' in the title. 🤬 🤮

Ok, let me try to get back on track.

The lack of information, education and even the desire to learn about the female body is alarming. When one is ignorant about the fascinating, mysterious and complex female body it is impossible to understand how it works, understand her daily life as a woman and often times never know how to truly satisfy her sexually.

Seeing the images of vulva immediately made me think about how most men refer to images like those posted as the vagina. A shocking number of them do not know the difference between the vulva and the vagina. Same with the difference in the areola and the nipple...they don't know the difference. Even ignorance about the clitoris and how complex it is and not just merely the "bump" between the labia.

Almost every comment they make about a woman's body across multiple nude art platforms, discussion on a porn site or even in real life conversations about a female body reveals just how many are truly ignorant about the female body. I cannot entirely blame them for that because of things discussed in your post. My belief is that with genuine interest and desire to learn, the information can be found or better yet, sit down with the women in their life to have an honest discussion about the female body. An entirely different subject for discussion would be males using porn inspired words (tits, p**sy, c***, wh***, etc) to describe the female body in artistic nudes and real life. It's an insult to the woman, the model, the photographer and the person that posts the nude art. They can't seem to differentiate between art and pornography or simply do not care because they do not respect women anyway? 🙄

Lastly, I see many men 'liked' your post but no comments from them. I have to wonder how many actually took the time to read your great article? Did they only 'like' because they saw a gasp...."vagina"...and just wanted to scroll for more 'vaginas' instead of wanting to learn about the female body and her experiences. 🤔 Tsk Tsk

There is nothing pornographic about these images, rather the woman’s body is beautiful & complete. Never compartmentalized.
